About a week ago, the Singapore government made an announcement that 4 confirmed list sites and another 13 reserved list sites would be released as per the second half of the 2015 Government Land Sales Programme.
The four sites that have been on the confirmed list are likely to generate about 2130 units. These sites are located at Clementi Avenue 1, Alexandra View (Parcel A), Yio Chu Kang Road, and Siglap Road. Of these, the site at Yio Chu Kang Road is also touted to be converted into an EC project that will consist of 520 units.
The URA, in a statement, mentioned that the new supply would be added to the already present supply that comprises of approximately 84,000 new homes, even considering ECs.
On the other hand, the reserve list consists of 8 residential sites that are private in nature. These 8 sites have been identified as Stirling Road, Lorong Liew Lian, Bartley Road/Jalan Bunga Rampai, New Upper Changi Road/Bedok South Avenue 3 (Parcel B), Margaret Drive, Tampines Avenue 10 (Parcel C), Sumang Walk (EC development), and Jalan Kandis.
Besides these, there are two other sites, both commercial and residential nature, them being Bukit Batok West Avenue 6 and Holland Road, two more commercial sites at Woodlands Square and at Beach Road, and lastly, a White site in Marina Bay’s Central Boulevard.
On complete development, the White site is set to complete the streetblock that exists along the Shenton Way, and also better the connectivity for pedestrians in the Marina Bay office region.
The sites on the reserve list can give way to about 5695 residential units and a further 275,580 sqm GFA of commercial space, mainly for office usage.
As per URA, the supply of land from the government’s GLS Programme, along with the already existing projects, would be enough to meet future demands in the upcoming few years.
