In its recent announcement, the Land Transport Authority in Singapore surprised many as it revealed that they are trying to look carefully at the possibility of having a connection between the Circle Line and the future Jurong Region Line. If this project would proceed as planned, current Singapore property developments future residents of Lakeville @ Lakeside and The Orient @ Pasir Panjang may have better access to more areas in Singapore.
Minister Lui Tuck Yew said in his latest interview that the West Coast MRT stations and the Pasir Panjang MRT stations could also take advantage of the future extension as well. The project will hopefully be complete come year 2030.
In a couple of years, the stations that would be included in the JRL will soon be revealed. They are aiming to finish the JRL project by 2025. On the other hand, the expansion that would connect the JRL to the Circle Line may be located at the area within Haw Par Villa. This would allow commuters to have an easy access to the various activities in the Jurong West such as the Jurong Island, the Jurong Industrial estate, the Nanyang Technological University, and the upcoming Jurong Gateway.
Reaching as far as twenty kilometers, those who are living in areas within Boon Lay and the Choa Chu Kang can also utilize the JRL at the same time. According to Mr. Lui, the JRL as well as the future plans for extension, West Coast commuters can immediately reach the Central Business District with these MRT developments. In general, the train system in Singapore will soon become more efficient and saving more time regardless of where they are headed in the city.
As the train network matures and more lines are added, Mr. Lui also hoped that it would give more flexibility to the commuters as they get more options going from point A to point B.
**Along the upcoming Thomson-East Coast Line in Singapore (TEL), the residents in these two developments, The Adana @ Thomson and Thomson Impressions will benefit from staying near the Bright Hill MRT Station. More developments near the MRT Station, please read on Pavilion @ Potong Pasir as well as the Principal Garden. Thank you.
