For consistent income, the developers will keep the Woodleigh Mall, which is the retail component. This multiple use project by Kajima Development and SPH ticked its ground-breaking on Wednesday, 28th of March.

Lee Boom Yang during the groundbreaking of the project stated that they aimed to change this land into one, which would be sought after by homeowners to live in proximity to parkland environments while enjoying the comfort of a vibrant and well-provisioned mall.

A $1.13 billion bid was labeled by Kajima development and SPH in the month of June last year for the highly sought after residential and commercial site, which is the initial Government land sale site the new Bidadari Estate provides.

The bid, which won, reached a land rate of $1,181 per square feet (psf), which were based on the peak gross floor area, which was allowed for the leasehold site of 99 years. Broadly called the "future Bishan” as a result of its location which is central, the Bidadari estate which has a span of 93ha is developed as an aspect of Toa Payoh town, bounded by Sennett Estate, Bartley Road, Mount Vernon Road and Upper Serangoon Road.

Built above what used to be the largest gravesite in Singapore, it is predicted to be a community situated in a garden, with new HDB flats initiated in the area being over-subscribed so far.

It was also stated by Dr Lee that the development will enjoy benefits and complement the Bidadari Park adjacent to it and residents will be able to enjoy views over the Bidadari Heritage Walk and Alkaff Lake. Mall visitors will equally enjoy the park amenities around.
