On Wednesday June 8, the government unveiled 4 confirmed and 11 reserve list sites respectively under the program dubbed Government Land Sales for the second half of this year.
The Ministry of National Development reveled that, the sites have the potential of yielding 7,550 housing units and 277,100 square meters commercial floor space. This was said to be close to the 7,420 private household units in the first half 2016 under the program.
The sites will include 3 residential plots at West Coast Vale, Fernvale Road and Perumal Road and one mixed-use development site located at Upper Serangoon Road, with a capacity to comfortably accommodate up to about 2,170 household units and 15,500 square meters of commercial floor area.
The Ministry of National Development further said, “Upper Serangoon Road, which is mainly a residential complex will provide retail amenities and other services for those residents who will be residing at Bidadari estate."
The 2,170 confirmed list units that are more than 1,560 units that were confirmed in the first half of this current year. This is an increase of about 610 units. The number is close enough to the 2,130 units that were reported back in the first half of this present year, which came as a result of selling the reserve property list sites back in February.
At the moment, the reserve list comprises of 7 residential sites; which included 1 EC site, 1 residential and commercial site, 1 white site and 2 commercial sites. All of the above have the potential of yielding 5,380 residential units, 780 Executive Condominium units and 261,600 square meters of commercial floor area.
The Beach Road, Central Boulevard and Woodlands Square for are 3 sites included in the reserve list as mixed-use property developments and which comprise of office spaces.
As per the record confirmed Urban Redevelopment Authority, all the confirmed property list sites are put up for sale at only pre-determined dates and will mostly be disposed off through a tendering process. As for the sites on the reserve list, they will only be put up for sale, as and when a potential developer comes up with a good minimum price offer, which the government can accept.
